			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The old thinkabout site said, &#8220;when you learn something, you become a new person.&#8221; I&#8217;m going to operate on the assumption that learning is an exercise in courage. Look at a complex equation, one that you don’t immediately understand. Start to work on it. Try to find the point at which you start thinking to yourself, &#8220;Maybe I just can&#8217;t do this.&#8221; Whether or not you persist depends on a lot of things. Sometimes it can be influenced by a good rapport with good teacher.</p>
<p>This site is about trying to get past that &#8220;I can&#8217;t&#8221; moment. I&#8217;m interested in developing tools that help people teach and learn, and in teaching and learning myself.</p>
