Look at a complex equation, one that you don’t immediately understand. Start to work on it. Try to find the point at which you start thinking to yourself, “Maybe I just can’t do this.” Whether or not you persist depends on a lot of things. Sometimes it can be influenced by a good rapport with good teacher.

This site is about trying to get past that “I can’t” moment. I’m interested in developing tools that help people teach and learn, and in teaching and learning myself.
